CryptoKitties Releases Stephen Curry Sports Collectibles
CryptoKitties has partnered with NBA star Stephen Curry for an exclusive sports collectible series.
Blockchain-focused collectibles website CryptoKitties hasteamed upwith digital assets distributor and creator AppMoji and two-time National Basketball Association (NBA) most valuable player (MVP) Stephen Curry to bring sports memorabilia to the blockchain.
Under the deal, Curry auctioned off on Monday one of three special-edition CryptoKitties through a personal crypto wallet. Ten highly-coveted CryptoKitties were given away during the auction in celebration of the partnership. More Curry collectibles are expected to go on offer soon.
Mack Flavelle, co-founder of CryptoKitties, said the Exclusive Cats are a tribute of sorts to Curry’s interests on and off the court. He added:
"Stephen is the perfect partner to try out this new kind of Kitty. He's an incredible athlete, but also has a deep interest in technology and innovation.”
Curry is known as an athlete active in the tech community. He is the first ever sports personality to team up with a blockchain-based game through his involvement with Moji (AppMoji).
CryptoKitties quickly gained popularity since its launch in late 2017, with some cats sold for more than $100,000. The group expects Curry's collectibles to be in high demand by sports fans.
