Craig Wright Re-Publishes Bitcoin (BTC) White Paper
The Bitcoin (BTC) white paper was published as a social science academic writeup, in another bid to add legitimacy to the claims that Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto.
Dr. Craig Wright once again attempted to add legitimacy to his claims of being the de facto creator of Bitcoin (BTC). He re-published the Bitcoin (BTC) white paper on the Social Science Research Network (SSRN), a repository of scientific papers. At the same time, the originally published white paper by Satoshi Nakamoto remains on bitcoin.org.
Wright presented emails related to the creation of the paper during the trial against the estate of Dave Kleiman. So far, the case has revealed discrepancies in document timestamps and email dates.
Wright has attempted to prove his ownership of the Bitcoin authorship through legal means, while claiming that ownership of private keys was actually meaningless. The crypto community remains unconvinced. In the past, Wright has used the white paper to bolster his claims, including patenting Bitcoin.
At the same time, another Satoshi Nakamoto claimant stated that the white paper was first held in a notary depot in Belgium, though there is no evidence presented of such a document: https://twitter.com/realSatoshiN/status/1164868135016718336
The white paper publication to SSRN arrived at the time when Bilal Khan also claimed he was Satoshi Nakamoto.
Khan’s claim was that a crashed hard drive meant the loss of a wallet.dat file, with no possibility of data recovery.
Other claimants state they have not moved the coins in order not to affect the market.
In the case of Wright, he has threatened to regain control of the initial mining rewards, which he counts as being 1.1 million BTC. This is higher than Khan’s claim to losing 980,000 BTC. In any case, Wright will have to prove he can control the coins, as he has threatened to sell and possibly crash the market.
Wright is affiliated to the Bitcoin SV project, a branch of the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) network that separated in November 2018. BSV currently trades around $134, and its chief claim to success is to propagate large blocks. Theoretically, Wright also controls 1.1 million BCH and the same amount of BSV.
