Ripple’s XRP Listed on KuCoin: 8 Trading Pairs Added

The trading platform has added eight XRP markets including with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), and USD Coin (USDC).

Singapore’s virtual currency exchange KuCoin announced on Monday support for Ripple’s cryptocurrency XRP (XRP) in eight trading pairs. The move came around two weeks after the coin overtook Ethereum (ETH) as the second-most-valuable digital asset.

The KuCoin move is a significant one in the ongoing battle between XRP and Ethereum for second place in the cryptocurrency market capitalization list, as most of the XRP and ETH volumes come from Asian exchanges.

In September, XRP briefly took the number two position, but Ethereum quickly regained the leading altcoin crown. However, in mid-November, XRP became the second coin by market cap again. Currently, the difference between the two assets stands at $2.7 billion, according to Coinmarketcap data.

Like most top-ten cryptos, XRP was in a negative trend on Monday morning despite the KuCoin listing. However, the Ripple’s cryptocurrency had one of the slightest decreases as of 1449 UTC, nearly five hours after KuCoin support began. The asset changed hands at $0.36 per coin, which was 2.14% less compared to Sunday. At the same time in the top five, BTC was down 3.48% on a daily basis, ETH – 3.43%, Stellar Lumens (XLM) – 4.29%, and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) – 4.25%.

XRP clocked nearly $329 million in trading volume for the last 24 hours. Bitbank’s pair between the coin and the Japanese fiat currency, the yen, reached $38.2 million. Binance USDT, BTC, PAX, ETH, and Binance Coin (BNB) markets totaled $29.7 million, while ZB.com pairs between XRP and Bitcoin, Ethereum, and ZB coin recorded $29.5 million.
