Zcash (ZEC) sur Coinbase Pro: Listing et Hausse de Prix

Coinbase’s professional trading platform has launched support for Zcash (ZEC).

Privacy coin Zcash (ZEC) is the latest cryptocurrency to join Coinbase’s professional trading platform, Coinbase Pro.

The exchange announced the listing in a blog post on Thursday. Users can already make ZEC deposits on Coinbase Pro, while trading against USD Coin (USDC) will kick off “once ‘sufficient liquidity’ is established.”

As with other token launches, Coinbase will add Zcash in four stages: “transfer-only” (when customers can deposit), “post-only” (customers can post limit orders), “limit-only” (when customers can begin matching orders), and “full trading” (full access to trading services, including limit, market, and stop orders).

ZEC trading will initially be accessible for Coinbase Pro users in the UK, European Union, Canada, Singapore and Australia. The exchange added that the new offering would also be available in the US except for New York, presumably because of the unclear regulatory climate in the state. More jurisdictions may be added in the future, Coinbase said. The company further noted that it was not yet adding the token to its retail trading platform Coinbase.com or its iOS and Android apps.

Established in 2016, Zcash is a peer-to-peer payments protocol which gives users the option to send transactions privately. Following Coinbase’s announcement, the token outperformed the general crypto market. ZEC’s price rose more than 15% in trading on Thursday, and reached as high as $99. At the time of writing, the altcoin is changing hands at $85.14. With a current market capitalization of around $455 million, ZEC ranks as the 19th largest cryptocurrency, according to CoinMarketCap.

ZEC was featured on a list of cryptocurrencies that Coinbase said it was “exploring” back in July. The exchange has already added Basic Attention Token (BAT) and 0x (ZRX), leaving Cardano (ADA) and Stellar Lumens (XLM) as the next possible assets to be included in Coinbase’s portfolio.
