DOGE is getting appreciated more and more after a recent Binance listing.
Dogecoin (DOGE) is getting a second round of appreciation, after being one of the most prominent meme coins. Now, OKEx has added DOGE to its trading pairs, following the example of Binance. The listings are a curiosity, since DOGE is a more or less abandoned project, and coins will be mined to infinity, with no cap on the supply.

The Dogecoin founder, Jackson Palmer, has also moved on from the coin, and has left it to the community. Palmer is also one of the more skeptical voices in the crypto community, warning against hype and irrational hopes.
OKEx opened deposits for DOGE this July 19, and withdrawals will be available a few days later. DOGE will get stablecoin markets, in pairs with USDT and USDK.
The listing news brought DOGE a small price boost, stabilizing the asset around $0.003. DOGE is down from a recent peak around $0.0037.
DOGE is a relatively volatile coin, with significant price appreciation cycles. DOGE is known for its price peaks in Bitcoin (BTC) terms, with significant appreciation in Satoshi. This is one of the reasons the coin has been hanging around and not dying out - speculative trading gives back robust BTC returns. Currently, DOGE is in a valley, standing around 38 Satoshi.
Unfortunately, the DOGE price moves up from recent lows around $0.002 were not a real harbinger for the altcoin season.
DOGE also served the role of being a cheap and accessible asset to move funds between exchanges. However, its biggest drawback was the lack of representation on big markets like Binance. DOGE served niche exchanges and even worked as a base pair coin, but its role as an arbitrage asset was usurped by dollar-pegged stablecoins.
DOGE still works as a social media coin and a prank coin, as well as a relatively cheap way to send funds. Curiously, DOGE is also one of the most secure digital assets, based on the near-record hashrates of Litecoin (LTC). Litecoin miners also help produce DOGE.
