Malta AI & Blockchain Summit Set for May 23, Blockchain Awards Ceremony on the Cards
The Malta AI and Blockchain Summit is all set to rock the blockchain island once again this year with an even bigger list of speakers, special guests and an awards ceremony.
After a successful run last year, Malta Blockchain Summit is back, scheduled for May 23, 2019 and will be hosting the AIBC Awards Dinner at the Hilton, during the first day of Malta AI & Blockchain Summit (AIBC). As the deadline for applications ended on May 7, the seven judges have had a tough time selecting the final nominees from an impressive number of worthy applicants.
“Alongside premier networking opportunities, with this opulent event, we bring together luminaries in the industry for an evening of recognition and celebration of achievement. Shining a spotlight on some of the most intriguing and creative tech projects to challenge the conventional role of technology are the tech players changing the face of industry as we know it – it’s time to BUIDL the future,” Eman Pulis, Founder & CEO of the Malta AI & Blockchain Summit commented.
Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen, Archduke of Austria, Prince of Tuscany, Prince Grandmaster of the Sovereign Hospitaller Order of St John of Jerusalem, Knights of Malta, will honor the ceremony as a special guest of the event. Apart from being a member of the Boards of directors in several companies, Habsburg-Lothringen leads the Association of Furtherance of Peace in Vienna.
Vinay Gupta, CEO of Mattereum, is another guest of honor for the AIBC Awards Ceremony. Being a provider of infrastructure for legally-enforceable smart contracts, Mattereum is often referred to as one of the weirdest and most daring startups.
No less than 5000 participants, 700 investors, 300 exhibitors, and 100 startups are expected to gather at Hilton in St Julian’s, Malta to become a part of a pompous and extravagant show.
However, the exclusive Awards Dinner will accommodate only 400 guests who are lucky to book a table via the AIBC website. The nominated companies will receive awards for extraordinary achievements in the following categories:
- Social Impact (Solarcoin Blockchain 4 Humanity, Giveth.io, Project Freedom)

The evening will end with a grand final of a charitable auction of Nelly Baksht and Derek Mason arts. All proceeds will be donated to the Kilimanjaro Challenge. In 2018, on its 12th occasion, it raised €110,000 for building a center for disabled children in Ethiopia.
