ConsenSys’ Kaleido, Amazon Partner on Ethereum Marketplace for Enterprises
ConsenSys’ blockchain startup Kaleido and Amazon Web Services have jointly launched a new full-stack Ethereum marketplace to help companies employ blockchain solutions.
Kaleido, a ConsenSys’ blockchain startup, has launched a new full-stack Ethereum marketplace in partnership with Amazon’s cloud computing arm Amazon Web Services (AWS), according to a press release published on Thursday.
Dubbed Kaleido Marketplace, the platform is an extension of Kaleido’s Blockchain Business Cloud. It aims to assist companies in employing blockchain solutions through tools and protocols for all the components of new projects, from proofs-of-concept to live production business networks. The services offered are all in plug-and-play form and are provided by Kaleido, AWS, and members of their new partnership program.
“The reality is only about 10 percent of an enterprise blockchain project is the blockchain itself. There are many other application, data and infrastructure components required to go into production,” said Kaleido Founder and CEO, Steve Cerveny. “I'm very excited that we have a whole cloud of blockchain technologies pre-integrated for our clients to use. The Kaleido Marketplace is a one-stop shop for all things enterprise blockchain.”
Early adopters of the Kaleido Marketplace have reportedly said that the platform eliminates 80% of the custom code required to build their blockchain project. This, according to the press release, is due to the provided access to “HD wallets for privacy and ID registries for organizational identity, as well as industry products such as Chainlink for smart contract oracles, Viant for supply chain management, OpenLaw and Clause.io for real-time legal contracts.”
Commodities platform Komgo, whose network of financial institutions includes ING, Citi, Koch Supply & Trading, Societe Generale, MUFG Bank, Credit Agricole Group, BNP Paribas, and Shell, was one of the marketplace’s first clients. CEO Souleima Baddi was quoted as saying that the new platform will help the company deliver production-ready products for a large number of participants at a very fast pace.”
Launched in May by ConsenSys and AWS, Kaleido has recently expanded its business in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region to improve the trade connectivity in the region and respond to the surging demand for blockchain services by companies and governments.
