BlockShow Europe 2018 Reveals Winners of European Blockchain Industry Leaders Poll
The BlockShow team has announced the winners of its poll, which was conducted with the first ever blockchain-based polling app.
BlockShow Europe 2018, an international blockchain conference, has finished a polling process carried out to identify the most influential women and the most groundbreaking companies in the European blockchain industry. The organizers used the first blockchain-based app for global polling, Polys, demonstrating how easy it is to introduce the new technology into our lives.
Over 2,000 votes were gathered to choose the blockchain game-changers in Europe from a shortlist of 15 women and 15 companies pre-selected by the BlockShow team. The results of the poll were announced on May 28, 2018, the opening day of BlockShow Europe 2018.
Quy Vo-Reinhard, co-founder and chief data officer of the HIT Foundation, won the first place in the Distinguished Women category. She participated as a speaker in a Solutions Session called “The Rise of Humanitarian Use Cases.”
Commenting on the recognition, Quy Vo-Reinhard said:
“I believe the blockchain can bring a bright future to the global community. I was born in a country where, 40 years ago, a majority of people believed women belonged in the kitchen. I feel that I’ve come a long way: being here, speaking, and receiving an award for what I'm doing for women in tech and at the HIT Foundation is amazing. I suggest next year there should be a category for men, too — we all work really hard in this industry. It has nothing to do with gender and everything to do with capability and performance. I dedicate my award to all women working in the field, especially backstage. This industry — and this event — can’t be successful without you, ladies.”
Bitfury secured the top spot among 14 worthy competitors. Founded in 2011, Bitfury Group has become a prominent blockchain technology company, a leading developer of enterprise solutions, and one of the largest infrastructure providers in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. Currently, the company has over 500 employees in 16 countries around the globe, including Russia, Ukraine, the USA, the Netherlands, Norway, Japan, Georgia, the UK, and Canada.
“Bitfury is grateful for this show of support. We work hard every day to develop and advance blockchain solutions for governments, businesses, and institutions that make life better for people – in Europe and around the world. And we are more committed than ever to bring this game-changing technology to life,” Bitfury CEO Valery Vavilov said.
